2020 Attila's Selection Zinfandel

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique, small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Californias Sonoma County.

Brilliant ruby-red in color, this stunning Zinfandel entices with aromas of ripe black cherry, notes of floral and cracked pepper. Ripe red plum and blackberry flavors are met with citrus and tobacco notes. Silky tannins layered with spice are immersed with fresh acidity and a crisp, enchanting finish.

Named for Count Haraszthys son who managed Buena Vista Winery with his father, Attilas Selection Zinfandel was sourced from vineyards in the warmer region of Sonoma Valley as well as in the Russian River where the days are warm and the nights are cool, the perfect growing conditions for Zinfandel a varietal The Count helped make prominent in America. This big, bold wine was fermented in open-top fermenters with hand punch downs before being aged for 20 months in French oak, 15% new oak.
