Deep purple in the glass, our 2014 Count’s Selection Valdiguie offers rich aromas of bright fruit accented with a touch of minerality. With a velvety tannic structure and complex flavors of blackberry, blueberry and red clay earthy notes, this juicy wine is immediately enjoyable!
These grapes were harvested on September 11th from an old, pre-Prohibition vineyard just off of Pickett Road in Napa Valley’s Calistoga AVA. This wine was made in the same style as Pinot Noir and did not undergo carbonic maceration as most Beaujolais and Valdeguie do. It was partially fermented in the historic caves of Buena Vista Winery before being aged 14 months in 100% French oak to produce a full and smooth texture.
