2021 The Count's Selection Trousseau Gris

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

Meyer lemon, green apple and fresh lime zest arise from the glass to embrace the nose. This is a breezy, fresh white wine with notes of melon, nectarine and honeysuckle flavors that are finely balanced with crisp acidity. The palate enjoys nice weight in the middle with a touch of earthy minerality followed by a lovely, fresh and lasting finish.

The grapes were harvested on August 20 from the Fanucchi-Wood Road vineyard located on the Olivet bench in the Russian River Valley. The wine was aged in concrete which lends texture and softening along with a sense of minerality.
