2021 The Count's Selection Roussanne

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking.

The wine embraces you with notes of baked peach and lilac layered with a touch of orange blossom and lemon zest. This medium-bodied white wine has crisp flavors of stone fruit accented by a touch of créme brûlée. Invigorating with crisp, fresh acidity and a soft, lush mouthfeel, this wine leaves you wanting more.

The grapes for this Roussanne were harvested on October 12, 2021, from Bennett Valley in Sonoma County. The moderately cool climate found in the Bennett Valley AVA allows for a longer growing season which in turn, helps maximize flavors and increase concentration while, the cooler temperatures, preserve the grapes natural acidity. The grapes were fermented with native yeast before being aged in neutral French oak barrels for eight months.
