2018 Roussanne Bennett Valley

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

Our 2018 Roussanne opens with floral and ripe citrus aromas
and a touch of melon. The palate opens with stone fruit and lemon zest complemented by bright acidity and medium weight. This is a round and plush wine with a long lasting finish.

The grapes for this Roussanne were
harvested on October 24, 2018, from Bennett Valley in Sonoma County. The moderately cool climate found in the Bennett Valley AVA allows for a longer growing season which in turn,
helps maximize flavors and increase concentration while, the cooler temperatures, preserve the grapes natural acidity. The grapes were fermented with native yeast before being aged in neutral French oak barrels for eight months.
