2021 The Count's Selection Petit Verdot

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking.

Wine club only

Dressed in a deep, luxurious purple, the 2021 Petit Verdot beckons with an inviting bouquet, showcasing black cherry and plum aromas complemented by hints of vanilla and smoke. This wine unfolds as a complex and full-bodied experience, delivering powerful flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and subtle pepper notes. Refined tannins and a dense mouthfeel add to its allure, culminating in a long and silky finish that gracefully lingers.

The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Sonoma County. In keeping with the adventurous spirit of Buena Vistas founding, we are proud to bring you this 2021 Petit Verdot. These grapes were hand harvested on October 19, 2021 from a sustainably farmed vineyard located in the prestigious Calistoga appellation. The wine was fermented in open-top fermenters before being aged 20 months in 100%
French oak, 67% new.
