2019 The Count's Selection Petit Verdot

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking.

Sold out.

A deep, rich purple color, this 2019 Petit Verdot has a inviting bouquet of black cherry and plum aromas with a touch of vanilla and smoke. This is a complex and full-bodied wine with powerful flavors of blackberry, blueberry and pepper notes. Refined tannins and a dense mouthfeel are enhanced by a long and silky finish.

The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Sonoma County. In keeping with the adventurous spirit of Buena Vistas founding, we are proud to bring you this 2019 Petit Verdot.

These grapes were hand harvested on September 29 from a sustainably farmed vineyard located in the prestigious Calistoga appellation. The wine was fermented in open top fermenters before being aged 20 months in 100% French oak, 45% new.
