2018 Otelia's Selection Pinot Noir

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

A lovely ruby red in the glass, this 2018 Pinot Noir has aromas of cranberry, woodsmoke and notes of cola. It is a softly textured wine with flavors of warm raspberries and rhubarb with a touch of black tea and dusty earth on the finish. Juicy and well-balanced, the finish is delightful.

Named for Count Haraszthys youngest daughter, Otelias Selection Pinot Noir is sourced from one of the finest vineyards atop Sonoma Mountain.
Harvested from some of the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Sonoma County, this wine has a distinctive blend of clones that are enhanced by a small amount of Pinot Meunier to add depth and complexity. A variety of soils ranging from
sandy loam with a shallow clay layer to heavy clay contribute to the distinctive deep fruit and earthy flavors in this wine.
