Our 2014 Countís Selection Grenache opens with aromas of raspberries and soft spice. Flavors of blueberries, tart cherry and a touch of leather burst forth, coating the palate with a silky texture and soft, rich finish.
The grapes were harvested predominantly from the Haas Vineyard in the early morning of September 30 to ensure they retained their maximum freshness. The wine was then fermented in open-top fermenters in the caves of the historic Buena Vista Winery with hand punch-downs that provided a gentle extraction for a healthy fermentation before being aged for 13 months in 100% French oak barrels from select forests in the center of France. Our 2014 Grenache was made in a Chateauneuf-du-Pape style with small amounts of Mourvedre and Syrah added to the final blend.
