2019 Natalia's Selection Chardonnay

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Sonoma County.

A garland of crème fraîche, lemon zest, ripe pear, orange zest and brioche leap from the glass. This is a vibrant, medium-bodied wine with flavors of fresh peaches, honeysuckle, toasted almonds, and hints of spiced apple coated with refreshing acidity and a buttery-textured finish.

Named for the wife of the Counts son Attila and the daughter of General Mariano Vallejo, Natalias selection Chardonnay is harvested from the Green
Valley region of the Russian River Valley, where the warm summer days and cool nights of the region allowed the select blocks to reach optimum ripeness and flavor maturity. The grapes for our 2019 Chardonnay were harvested in the early morning to refrain freshness. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was aged in 65% French oak, 18% new, for 13 months prior to bottling.
