2017 Natalia's Selection Chardonnay

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

OA pale straw color in the glass, our 2017 Natalias Selection Chardonnay is bursting with vibrant aromas of pear and lemon. On the palate, juicy flavors of fresh apricot, apples and a hint of toasted oak lead to a medium-body with a round luscious mouthfeel, well balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

Named for the wife of the Counts son Attila and the daughter of General Mariano Vallejo, Natalias selection Chardonnay is harvested from the Green Valley region of the Russian River Valley, where the warm summer days and cool nights of the region allowed the select blocks to reach optimum ripeness and flavor maturity. The grapes for our 2017 Chardonnay were harvested in the early morning to keep the fruit cold. The wine underwent 100% malolactic fermentation and was aged in 100% French oak, 35% new, for 13 months prior to bottling.
