2021 Jovita's Selection Chardonnay

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Sonoma County.

Fragrant honeysuckle, succulent peach nectarine, and subtly toasted oak, accompanied by a delicate touch of mineral, embrace the senses. The palate exudes invigorating, vibrant flavors of citrus, crisp green apple, and a gentle sprinkling of honeysuckle. Luxuriously creamy, opulent, and intricately layered with complexity, the finish instills a deep yearning for an encore.

Named for the wife of the Count's son, Arpad, and the daughter of General Mariano Vallejo, Jovitas Selection Chardonnay is harvested from two sandstone soil vineyards in Sonoma, Gaps Crown and Durell Vineyards. The grapes were hand-harvested and whole cluster pressed and aged for 14 months in 35% new French oak before being bottled unfiltered.
