2020 Jovita's Selection Chardonnay

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society was formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards. The Vinicultural Society has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The collection of wines explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Sonoma County.

Honeysuckle, peach nectarine and toasted oak with a touch of mineral envelop the nose. The palate is. expresses crisp, ripe flavors of citrus, fresh green apple, and a light dusting of honeysuckle. Creamy, lush, and layered with complexity, the finish leaves you longing for more.

Named for the wife of the Count's son, Arpad, and the daughter of General Mariano Vallejo, Jovitas Selection Chardonnay is harvested from two sandstone soil vineyards in Sonoma, Gaps Crown and Durell Vineyards. The grapes were hand-harvested and whole cluster pressed and aged for 15 months in 30% new French oak before being bottled unfiltered.
