Our 2014 Countís Selection Carignane opens with bright cherry aromatics exploding out of the glass. Juicy upon the palate, a touch of oak and hints of minerality balance the fresh flavors of blueberry and raspberry which lead to a long, lingering finish.
This Old Vine Carignane was harvested from head trained vines that were dry farmed in a canyon pocket southwest of Ukiah. The
Caballo Blanco Vineyard is an 80 year old site known for producing distinct Carignane.
Our grapes were harvested on October 3rd and were fermented in open top fermenters with hand punchdowns before the juice was gently extracted using a basket press. The wine was then aged in seasoned French barrels for 14 months before bottling.
