2019 Count's Selection Albariño

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winerys founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique small-production wines that honor the winerys pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals and the incredible terroir of Northern California.

Our 2019 Albarino from the Russian River Valley opens with a bouquet of nectarine, grapefruit, and lemon zest on the nose. On the palate this wine is bursting with flavors of honeydew and nectarine with an underlying salinity. This is a medium bodied wine with bright acidity and a lingerings finish.

Harvested on September 27-28th, the grapes were sourced from the Russian River Valley. The grapes were whole-cluster pressed and fermented with native yeast. These grapes saw zero oak to retain the bright and crisp characteristics of Albarino.
