2021 Private Reserve Zinfandel

The Private Reserve wines are the ultimate wines within the portfolio; limited in production, sourced from the finest vineyards in Sonoma County and from appellations best suited for a specific varietal given the dramatic diversity in climatic and soil conditions across the County.

The Private Reserve Zinfandel is inky purple in the glass with a garland of Bing cherries and a touch of juniper berry on the nose. Expressions of fresh blueberry, baked plum, and boysenberry are enriched by notes of allspice, anise, and coee. The silky, soft tannins layer the palate gorgeously leading to a mouthwatering finish.

The Private Reserve Zinfandel was sourced from several old vineyards across Sonoma County, Vineyards include White Perry, adjacent to Buena Vista Winery, Cohn in Dry Creek, Saitone and Boscetti in Russian River Valley and Richards located in the warmer portion of Sonoma Valley.

Open-top vats, hand punch downs, basket pressing and barrel aging are key components in the creation of this Zinfandel. After the grapes are hand-picked, the best lots were fermented separately being pressed off and aged 24 months in 100% French oak, 25% new.
