Angelica

A tribute to some of the iconic wine styles from around the world that Agoston Haraszthy himself assisted in propagating in California. In the early days of Buena Vista, and what would become the Vinicultural Society, The Count and his son Arpad were commissioned by the Californian government to travel throughout Europe and bring back vine cuttings. After months of travel they succeeded in bringing back over 487 different varieties, modern winemaking techniques and styles that would go on to influence the likes of Charles Krug and many others.

This rich dessert wine offers aromas of dried fruits, plum and vanilla with a touch of soft baking spice. Generously coating upon the palate, velvety flavors of burnt caramel, hazelnut, and vanilla cream are followed by notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. This intense, unique dessert wine is delightful on its own but also makes a perfect pairing for cheese plates or dark chocolate truffles.

Crafted from the first grape of California and produced by the first premium winery of California, this is a wine as rich in tradition as it is in flavors and aromas. Made from the Mission grape, this is an opulent dessert wine with caramelized flavors and exquisite texture. This wine honors the heritage of Buena Vista where premium wine began in 1857.
