While Agoston Haraszthy was most recognized as being the Father of California viticulture, he was also the father of six illustrious children. His third son, Arpad, spent over two years in France learning the craft of sparkling wine production and later became the first to introduce Méthode Traditionelle sparkling wine into California winemaking. Arpad's sparkling, Eclipse, was one of the most celebrated in the nineteenth century; we pay tribute to his legacy.
The wine's bright, sustained golden color is enhanced by an attractive, persistent string of bubbles. The elegant, dense, complex bouquet reveals a wide range of aromas such as lime blossom, hints of toasted bread and honey. The wine's splendid mouthfeel is full and rich but well balanced, leaving delightful freshness on the palate.
Sourced from predominantly Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Louvois, this is classic Champagne made with 70% Pinot Noir grapes and 30% Chardonnay grapes.
